I use the following time categories for myself, concerning iris varieties:
    - newest - not older than 10 years;
    - new - 11-20 years;
    - of middle age - 21-40 years;
    - old - 41-60 years;
    - ancient - older than 60 years.
They certainly are not connected with the flower form.
