RE: HYB: inheritance of vigor


Thanks for those thoughts Neil.  What you say sure makes sense to me.
And fits in well with what I'm seeing.

Most, if not all, of the crosses I'm making are between unrelated lines
in a deliberate attempt to mix things up, shooting for the occasional
extremely good (=healthy) seedling.

It also fits with the low and inconsistent germination I see, even when
I've carefully controlled leaching, chilling, aeration, etc.

And all of this reminds me that I have a treasure that Sharon M sent me
several years (!) ago waiting for me to feast upon.
