Re: HYB: more questions - stalks

I don't think LIGHT BEAM is among the batch of things I got this year,
but it certainly sounds like one I will try.

34" is still pretty short. By the time it gets an automatic height
discount here, it would likely be less than 30". I was thinking more in
the 36 or taller class.

<LIGHT BEAM (L. Blyth '85) is registered at 34", E-M, RE and is a lemon
"Joyce
Terry" pattern with some plicata visible in the haft
area. It comes from
Broadway X Beverly Sills, so is a grandchild of
VANITY.>

<Some other Beverly Sills or Vanity offspring may also meet your needs.
Many
pinks and yellows have rebloom tendencies or are
involved in rebloomer
pedigrees. I'm wondering if Keppel's GAME PLAN, for
instance, might be useful
to you. Have you tried growing it?>

I will search the online database and see if there is anything that
looks promising. VANITY is a shy bloomer/grower here - she is a bit too
early and probably needs more food and water than the gravel where she
is currently growing. BEV has such a bad reputation in our region. I
bought her a couple of years ago, & she did manage to survive and
produced one wretched, severely stunted stalk with yucky flowers.

I do have GAME PLAN, new this year. Seems to be doing ok so far.

Thanks Neil.
