Lurkers -- if that's all you're worrying about, be happy!

Hi all,

No offense, but no offense is meant by the term
"lurker"!  And if being distressed by this issue
is all you're worrying about, by gosh, there art
thou happy!  

I moderate some feral cat rescue lists, and sometimes
people just decide they want to be insulted by
something that is certainly not meant to insult them.
We have tons of lurkers on the teaching-feral-cat-
rescue list, and occasionally I'll get an off-list
email, "thanks so much, you taught us how to do this
and now they're all spay/neutered".  But mostly, I
don't hear from the lurkers, they just lurk and learn,
and that's OK!

This list is neat, I've learned a lot from it.  One
cool thing about the internet is that it provides a
forum for people who know lots about something to
teach -- in some forums I'm a lurker, in some forums
I'm a teacher, and that's OK!
