HIST: Root beer scented F-purple S-beige or pale yellow maybe IB

Hi Lee,

1) You might go look at pics of lots of historic iris
at the HIPS (Historic Iris Preservation Society)
site,
www.worldiris.com
select HIPS
select "quick fix photos"
scroll through the names, click to see photos

There are lots of "name lost" iris 'lurking' out
there,
I try to rescue these UNK-iris (unknown name), and
occasionally find out the name! I got INDIAN CHIEF
(Ayres 1929) from my late Ma's garden in 1992, didn't
discover her name til 1999 (a fantastic iris).

We know of some root beer scented ones that are
purple or purple bitones.

By the way, an iris that we would now call an IB,
may be called a TB in the old days, and hence in the
old descriptions.

If nothing looks like the one you're looking for on
the
HIPS site, you can also look at

2) Argyle Acres -- great photos of historics
