Hello, From Donna Lockman NC z7/8
This is a defragmenter. It defrags your hard drives...a good thing. Most can
be set for a certain time of day or night and every day or two days a week
or what ever... On my Gateway it states things like sorting instead of
indexing, but basically is the same task. I am no expert but do work with
both types of computers in my classroom.

I have a Macintosh computer, every now and then a pop up box appears on the
upper left hand side of the screen, It reads; Indexing, Machintosh HD. It
runs for about 30 minutes then stopps. While it is running different words
appear on its screen, like, Scanning, writing, indexing. Do you know what
this
is? jerry
