pigments&genetics

Hi everyone,
 
I am a new subscriber and have been growing irises for several years. Now I would like to get started hybridizing. Are there any particular sources of information any of you could suggest that would give a beginning working knowledge of pigment biosynthesis and also flower color/pattern genetics? I'm in need of any help I can get!! Particular areas of interest are plicatas, color breaks, BIG beards, and of course the illusive red iris.
