Re: OT:NEEDS Breathing New Life Into An Old Club

I found AIS from this group (iris-talk) . I have learned 100 times more from Iris-talk than I have AIS. AIS is not informing the public of its existence. If AIS and its members have a goal to promote iris, it has failed. Can not include myself as I am not a member right now even though my dues are in the mail. I was a member four 4 years.

I am retired so I have the time but not the health or money to be a judge. I have a couple hours JT but didn't claim them, they were for my information.

I live within 50 miles of 14 Wal-Mart stores. I would be hard pressed to find 14 people that have heard of AIS in the same area. Even harder to find a nursery that can give proper information on how to grow iris.

Would this group exist without the AIS? If so, I'd be on it.
I am not now a member of AIS. I was 20 years ago when I was more prosperous. And I hope to be a member again. It is a good source of information. But right now I must concider the relative merits of buying a rhizome or buying a membership.

His letter indicated a lot of thought in the writing. Now I have just one
question- How many of us would be in this writing group today of it were not
for the AIS?............
