Linda mentioned the archives in her post. Linda and I had a discussion on
April 4 of 2005. When you go to the archives do a general search with
"Bacto", the potting soil I use. It pulls up several posts from this discussion.
Other blends are mentioned. The discussion picked up again in Sept. 2005.
Using 'pot culture' I pull up 33 posts.
As to growing rebloomers in such a warm climate, Mark Cook was our resident
grower from FL. and he reported WINESAP & ZURICH blooming for him in pots,
but I can't remember what else. He hasn't posted in a while. The search word
"alligator" brought up 61 posts that include talks about temperatures in
Florida. Mark found an alligator in his garden one day!
Lots of discussions. Just try various search terms concerning potting.
Some of us use pots for seed germination so you will get a lot of that, too.
