Bad news - all the transplants from four crosses died: 19 from
IMMORTALITY X ABOVE THE CLOUDS; 5 from (PINK FORMAL x bee) X MATRIX; 10
from IC4: (IMMORTALITY x CELEBRATION SONG) X CORAL BEAUTY; 12 from
HARVEST OF MEMORIES X ABOVE THE CLOUDS.
Good news - there are at least a few survivors from 9 other crosses
transplanted the same day. About half survived in only two crosses -
ENGLISH COTTAGE X SHARPSHOOTER and HARVEST OF MEMORIES X LAURA JEAN.
Bad news - some of those 9 only have one survivor and they look near
death.
Conclusion - since two crosses had about average survival for here,
losses probably weren't due to overfertilization, just unfortunate
timing of the cold weather was harder on some than others. I'll just
hope those two have produced babies that can handle the summer heat as
well as they did the winter cold and wet.
