The question was posed in an earlier post which is probably also included  in 
your digest. 
 
In essence, I am asking if anyone has ever read or heard any stories  about 
certain Irises being said to have fragrances that only persons  of class and 
refinement are able to smell. I distinguished  this issue, which is essentially 
folkloric, from a discussion of the scientific  ramifications.
 
The post to which you have replied is an afterthought.
