Re: RE: Translingual Registrations

I apologize. I thought you meant something like:

ALIENOR D'AQUITAINE (Eleanor Of Aquitane)

(Lawrence Ransom, R. 1991), Sdlg. 87/17-5. IB, 19" (48 cm), ML
"S. pale cream yellow (RHS 4D); F. same, yellow (10A) halo; beards cream, brushed yellow; lightly ruffled; pronounced sweet fragrance. I Do X Baby Blessed. Iris au Trescols 1992 "

or

ALIENOR D'AQUITAINE

(Lawrence Ransom, R. 1991), Sdlg. 87/17-5. IB, 19" (48 cm), ML
(Eleanor Of Auqitane) "S. pale cream yellow (RHS 4D); F. same, yellow (10A) halo; beards cream, brushed yellow; lightly ruffled; pronounced sweet fragrance. I Do X Baby Blessed. Iris au Trescols 1992 "

Neither of which I think is a good idea.

At the moment it seems the least we could do is
try to
offer translations in the unofficial checklists.

Personally, I think that is an incredibly bad idea.
The consequence of
that is to add another layer of confusion in
referring to a particular
cultivar (i.e., having multiple names for the same
cultivar).
