 In Mahan's book  Classic Irises--I thought I'd marked this but-----

I need the page or chapter  that two historical hyberdizers (I think one was
Sass and I forget who the other was) Mahan has them portraying how a phone
conversation might go on a phone in this day and age because they'd produced
the same iris but in different parts of the country. And they are making
light of it.  It's all done in fun, but shares a message.

Would someone please tell me what chapter or page I read this???
