Re: Re: Plastic labels

I have been trying something different for labels. I print out the names on a sheet of paper with a lazer printer. I cut the names out and apply them to plastic or metal markers with clear packing tape. I am hoping that because the paper is completely surrounded/rnclosed by the tape it will last awhile. Has anyone tried anything like this? it is cheap and I will be happy if it lasts a year but I hope it will last longer.

I've been using Avery labels 5520 for about six years and place the labls on Eon Industries metal holders. I print using a laser printer as the heat from the laser sets the ink into the plastic labels. I also use an Ichida black paint marker for quick labeling. Both the paint pen and the laser ink stand very well lasting upwards of four years. The label shown was prepared mid 2005.

Weather is average, not much snow unless a storm comes up the coast and runs into a cold front. So far only 1" snow.
