Re: BUSY BEING BLUE

Greetings,

My notes iindicate that BUSY BEING BLUE was entered by someone in the
annual Show by the Fredericksburg (VA) Area Iris Society, and was looking
good enough to catch my husbands's eye. He prefers clean lines and saturated
color. Fredericksburg is between Richmond and Washington, DC , and had the
same filthy winter we had last year, so possibly this iris is hardier than
one might expect.

I must say that one of the more remarkable irises in the show, which was
not, I think, receiving due admiration, was a seedling (C-93RR2) by Mr. J.
Griffen Crump of Alexandria, VA . Mr. Crump is interested in reentering the
gene pool of the historic irises and this seedling, a sinister variegata in
oxblood and moss with older tailored form and an exquisite bud, was, to my
eye, beautiful.
