Wow, 47 packs of seeds! That sure is a lot of seed! I'm obviously a rank
amateur since I only ordered 20 packs. :)

So did you get some of everything or did you order very specific ones?

I was sure that Murphy's Law would prevail with my order and all of my
first choices would be unavailable, so I marked more than 20 substitutes.
Here's a not so brief list of what I was shooting for:

I. chrysographes - black
I. forestii - short form
I. sanguinea var. nana alba
I. graminea - fragrant

I. laevigata - especially the ones from Hiroshi Shimizu of Japan
(Seems that I recall a mention of this guy's wonderful work with
laevigata's in an AIS bulletin or on the IRIS-L. Anyone know him personally
and care to elaborate?)

Tetra Calsibes and Tetra Versilaev Hybrids from Tomas Tamberg
(I recall someone on the list bragging on some of his siberians that they
acquired at an auction, in the New England area I think. My chances at
these seeds are as good as a snowball's chance in July in my climate, but
one can dream and get lucky.)

I. versicolor - one from Marty Schafer and Jan Sacks

I. virginica - black stem, pink

xBiversata = (versicolor x ensata) x versicolor
(These sounded interesting, exotic, and probably sterile, anyone know for
sure?)

I. nelsonii - from our very own Rodney Barton on the list
I. setosa - 'nana' form

I did notice that there are many interspecies hybrids and "species hybrids"
(oxymoron? really selected forms of species) on the SIGNA seed list. It's
my impression that many of the species such as the laevigatas, virginicas,
and versicolors are just starting to be worked with extensively by iris
breeders. Is this a fairly accurate perception, give or take 10 years? I
can't wait to see what new and beautiful things emerge from this group of
hybrids!

Okay, now the rest of you SIGNA members fess up and tell which seeds had
you drooling on the order form. :)
