UGLY IRISES (formerlly Taste in Irises)

Well, I have met a few irises I didn't like.  My all time nominee for ugliest
iris is the border bearded MIXED UP KID (Boswell 84).  (And when I told Carl
Boswell this he laughed and told me that's why he introduced it.)  And those
so-called "double and triple rimmers" , e.g. DOUBLE WIDE RIM, DOUBLE SATINY
CERISE, DOUBLE RED ROSE, etc, introduced by the Iris Test Garden in WA during
the 80's were horrid.  So, I must conclude, Sharon, that you are more
tolerant when it comes to irises than I am.  By the way, if you like MIXED UP
KID, I have some of my own seedlings I'll send you which aren't quite as
