I tried a quick 'pull' on my iris database to see if length-of-time-grown
would give me meaningful stats on pbf versus non pbf.
[1500 varieties -- date acquired, where acquired, date discarded/died,
pbf/non-pbf are all items I track]
Unfortunately, length-of-time-grown (records go back to early 60s) did not
give a significant discriminator re pbf versus non pbf. [Stats done in
DataDesk]
An eyeball run on number-of-times-replaced seems to be yielding a better
and more significant data set re pbf. [At least for my iris holdings, my
area, my data records, my reduction software]
Has anyone else done a quickie run on a data set and obtained significant
results?

Twiddling data rather than plants on a VERY icy morning!
PS: My yearly 'Discarded/Died' files are giving me incredible pain in
attempting a mock up of this project. Computer platform, database engine,
fields tracked, etc., etc., have all evolved over the past 35 years and I
have never (and will probably croak before doing so!) taken the time and
effort to pull it all together!
