I went out and checked on it again today in the howling wind and fortunately
not frozen after all but just cold rain, and it looks fairly content. No rot
in spite of having a chunk chewed out of one side of the rhizome (when did
that happen???). It has survived the recent warm up and refreezing and made
it through the fall. It isn't growing much, but I planted it out in the most
rot infested bed I have (well, that's where I had the most room : ) ). I
will move it out to the plowed rows this summer to give it more of a chance.

BTW, what time of bloom is listed for it in the checklist? Not E, I hope. I
didn't realize what a new intro this is - you sent it to the torture gardens
for sure.

Glad I already 'met' you off list or this would be really confusing! : )
