Re: Internet Virus, Off Topic


Without "decoding' the mess that came with this message,  I suspect this to
be another one of those phony "virus alerts."  You cannot repeat CANNOT
infect your computer with a virus by reading an e-mail message.  The real
virus is the message itself which people spread by sending to all their
lists, who then send it to all their lists, etc., and thus create endless
consternation.

This now occurs on the lists I read at the rate of about once every two months.

DO NOT PASS ON WARNINGS ABOUT "INTERNET VIRUSES" THAT CAN INFECT SIMPLY BY
HAVING A MESSAGE READ.  THIS DOES NOT OCCUR.
