Can anyone give me additional background information on the following
statement from the most recent Canadian Iris SocietyNewsletter?
Doug Murray wrote " The most unusual is Iris setosa tridentata, and ice
age refugee from Louisiana which stay green all winter, goes dormant in
spring and blooms in July".
Has anyone any records of Iris tridentata from Louisiana? PLANTS gives
the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida as the only distribution of this
species.
I have another quite different problem. My innominata, grown from seed,
are dying at the rate of one a month. They are about 8 inches high with
about 6-8 leaves and the leaves turn brown one after the other. When
one pulls a leaf it comes away easily from the base. Eventually, all
the leaves die off. I have added peat, kept damp but not wet, and
prayed a lot!
Any advice? I love the flower and would like to grow then to flowering.
I should note that they spent the summer outdoors in large pots (12
inches across and 12 inches deep) and have been in doors since October.
I keep then right in front of a window in a warm room.
