Clarence's posts about his successes sounds like what I have always heard
about starting and being successful in a business - start out by finding out
where your market is and how to supply it, rather than by figuring out what
you would enjoy producing.  Make sure the demand is there first.   On the
other hand, if you are going to produce a lot of something anyway, seems like
it ought to be worth trying to sell the excess rather than give or throw it
away.  But that is vastly different from starting out to establish a
successful business.

Clarence, how did your business evolve?  Did you start out selling excess
plants locally?
