I have been waiting for Ian to send a note to iris-l simply to view his
description of the weather.
Ottawa (and most of southern Quebec) has had the worst ice 'storm' on record.
The trees left standing have an inch of ice layered all over, beautiful things,
but extremely dangerous. Fortunately, the ice is covering a foot of snow which
is protecting the iris from last week's extraordinary freeze-thaw.
Given that my daughter's school is about a block from his residence, and given
that her school has been closed for two days due to driving conditions (day 1)
and power outages (day 2), it strikes me he may not have any power.
And...for everyone's information, we had absolutely zero rebloom this year;-)
