My club does the same thing except that they use the end caps available
for the PVC on the bottom ens. Holes can be drilled in the wood block
bases (pieces of 2 X 6 about 6" long) snug enough to hold the piece of
pipe, but thay can be taken apart and thus store more compactly. We have
two sizes available - 3/4 and 1".
