Re: Gardening with Irises

i am the utter neophyte here, so keep that in mind!

in two very wet areas of my yard i have interplanted yellow flag iris with
asclepias incarnata. they have two very different seasons, and seem to hand
off the baton to each other rather well. the iris are up and at 'em early,
while it takes the asclepias until late in the spring to get moving. they
are both rather vigorous growers and seem to keep each other in check. i
have also used a similar combination with iris versicolor and a white asclepias.

i am in the process of a new bed which is planted with iris (rebloomers) and
ornamental grasses of different sizes and colors. i cannot report of the
success of this one yet, it's only in since fall, but the vertical lines of
all the foliage are truly interesting already! i'm excited about this one...
