Barb,
Having made a few IB crosses I can say that "most" seedlings resulting
from these crosses, plantwise, will be in the intermediate range. I
have rarely noticed any plants which are small like the SDB's. Like
Walter mentioned some will be out of proportion. Last spring I observed
seedlings from a cross of Feminine Wiles X Chanted where most of the
stalks were in the 35 to 38 inch range with an SDB size flower. Out of
about 60 seedlings I only kept one pretty thing, (in proportion) which
was pale pink with a beard half red and blue. On other crosses I have
noticed larger flowers on shorter stalks. Proportion is definitely a
factor a hybridizer should watch for.
