If I had used a wedge and it had not done its job of 'spacing'
properly after removal, I think I would leave that stalk at home or put it
in the 'for display only' section of the show. Usually, a wedge will
correct the towing problem though, not highlight it. Just remember to
remove the wedge before placing the stalk on the show table. I have seen
stalks that had a wedge made of another iris stalk and because it is the
same color, the exhibitor forgot and left the wedge intact when the judges
viewed the stalk. Now, that highlights the fault for sure!
