Hi,
I concur with Rick. Use of the wedge is a best bet. As a judge, I know I
don't always remember that any one particular iris has a specific growth habit
upon every occasion. "Show" is the name of the game. Some of that not
remembering is handy as from season to season there can be weather conditions
to consider. Even judges are not infalible!
