Bob, both my dad & brother were painters (they're both gone now, sad to
say) & I have BEEN a painter but now do my drawing & painting strictly
on the computer. (Haven't produced any iris images yet have done a
bang-up job on a Columbine...) I have also worked for a number of
galleries in the tourist towns in Colorado. There are always artists
eager to sell their work & some will work on commission -- if the
general style & choice of media of any particular artist's work appeals
to you, ask the gallery or store owner to get in touch with the artist
to inquire about "working to order". I would suggest prowling any art
galleries in your area & seeing what you can find.
Another possibility is to contact any art schools or the art depts. of
the college or university nearest you -- you might find someone that is
already working in a style that you like & has, or will, produce
paintings of iris that will meet your fondest hopes. Good luck.
