forcing I. reticulata

Having potted them in November (nice big bulbs, best I've ever had), I've
been bringing in I. reticulata to force.  So far, only about a third of the
bulbs in any one pot have bloomed; the others seem just to sit there as fat
green shoots.  In one pot the flowers that opened failed to do so fully
(the falls remained angled upright).

Any thoughts?  Could it be that 6-8 weeks is not enough rooting period?
