It seems possible that any shipment might contain an unwanted pest which
didn't ordinarily reside in the shipping location. Is it possible to
fumigate the shipping container before shipment and thus avoid the problem?
If this could be done without damaging the goods, it would seem to be a
good idea. This probably is not practical for a commercial shipper, but on
private trades it would seem to be reasonable. Any ideas on how it might
be accomplished?
It would be a shame to inadvertantly introduce a damaging pest to a pest
free area.
