I have a list (via John White via Currier McEwen) of chromosome counts
for Tony Huber's extensive interspecific crosses. As I understand it,
these counts have been confirmed by actual microscopic counts and are
not merely mathematical conjecture. It also has sorrected nomenclature
for all crosses as decided (apparently) by James Waddick and Tony
Huber. Here are a few of the more common things, if anyone is
interested, I will gladly post them all, sorry I don't have time to type
them out just now. Again, just say so, and I will post all.
(not actually a cross but it is on there) I. Laevigata=2n32
Iris X Versata 2n66 The cross is I. versicolor x I. ensata
Iris X Robusta 2n90 The cross is I. Virg. var. Shrevei (2n72) X I.
Versicolor (2n108)
Iris X Versi-Virga 2n90/2n89 The cross is I. Versicolor X I. Virginica
var. Virginica
They get more complicated from here.
