Exactly.
You see touches of it in quite a few of the Siberians, where it is magical
indeed, and some of us are eagerly waiting for it to appear in the larger
bearded irises where it could also be very wonderful.
My first thought when I saw CODICIL was that it would really be something if
it was a clear deep turquoise with a lush dark magenta beard. Not that
CODICIL is not a very nice iris, you understand. I think the color would look
best in a tailored velvety self, but then I'm personally interested in
looking at some good modern tailored irises these days. For some reason a lot
of the mainstream fluffier pastel beardeds are tending to look pretty
hackneyed regardless of what color they are. Too many of them out there, I
guess.
