Re: OT: iris-list lurking

Hello all,

Over a period of time I have turned from a semi-active poster into an
almost complete lurker.

The number of links that a website garners is in direct proportion to
the amount of time it has been active. When a site is linked as a
'reference and question answerer' by general gardening websites the
volume of email inquiries grows to the point where answering
questions takes all available (and more!) email time.

Last weekend I attended a large bash for my wife's 90 year old Aunt.
We had as much of the extended family as could be gathered. Almost
all there with email excoriated me in terms such as "You never answer
my emails!!! I admit -- I don't.

I did shoot about 150 digital pics, winnow through them, pick the
best, crop color correct, sharpen and post to a family website the 40
or so best of the bunch.

That is what I do, both in and out of the iris world. I
send/answer/respond to a 'just sufficient' proportion of received
emails such that I keep correspondents in expectation of imminent
reform and constant aggravation and annoyance when the anticipated
reform does not occur.

Cheers,
