My Aril's does not have any weeds or grass around them. They must put out something. But that is a mystery to me.

Does any one know if aril/arilbreds sucreet anything to kill plants around
them. I have been out of town for two weeks and the arilbred beds haven't
been watered. They are mostly dormant, but there was alot of sedum in the
beds. An odd thing has occured the Sedum has died and turned brown only over
the arilbred rhizomes. Any thoughts?
