To someone that's never been to California, it sounds like you might have
bought Joe Ghio's place. (I've not seen his place so I don't know if it was
a corner lot.) He was in San Jose, at the same place for 40 years, and grew a
lot of iris. You may have the birthplace of MYSTIQUE. My advice would be to
trim just enough to make it look better. The fans manufacture food which is
stored in the rhizome.
