Plicata parents form big fat seed pods for me, are the easiest to germinate,
and are always the earliest to sprout.
I agree with you about the 'tired' purple plics. There are so
many, but if you get one nearly black on stark white, you have got
something. Nothing since DARKTOWN STRUTTER or MIDNIGHT
CIRCLE has caught my eye.
I have used MATRIX, EARL OF ESSEX, and ASCII ART as
parents and have some nice light blue plic seedlings, which are a
welcome relief from the plethora of purple plics. I know some will
say MATRIX is ugly, but it has so much going for it (especially in
the background in the genes department), and it can be used for
plics as well as selfs. No matter how you use it, it seems to give
nice, clear and clean children of excellent form that rebloom.
Actually, MATRIX may be the very best of the VIOLET MIRACLE
children, the SNOW FLURRY of the reblooming world, AAMOF.
Thanks to Lloyd and Earl for this reblooming progenitor.
