Re: Species NS versicolor

The versicolors that I collected in Nova Scotia are very unique. I didn't see them in bloom and had thought they were pseudacorous because of the number of seed pods on them. Two plants survived the move (collection procedures). One has 10-11 pods on each stem. The other has one stem with 14 pods on it. They are about 31" tall, and the stems are very strong, very little bending, also nice flowers. All this is in regular garden conditions, slightly dry. The one with 14 blooms has several four flowered terminals. I have never seen any other iris with four flowers in a flower point. I certainly will be using these for hybridizing. Lots of seed so I may be sending some to Signa.
Certainly worth considering naming and introducing.
