Re:CULT: Dormant TBs

Just thought I'd relate a story.

My little brother, who is a blind minister in southern Indiana, moved
to another town and took some of his old TBs to the new place. They
sat, forgotten, in a paper bag in his garage from August, 1998 to
April, 2000. They were, of course, pathetically shrivelled when
planted, but came right up, increased in 2000, and almost all bloomed
this year. While I certainly wouldn't advocate this, I find it VERY
impressive. Is there a record for success with iris dormancy?

Mary Lou, near Indianapolis, IN, USA. Zone 5. Where iris are boldly
going where no iris has gone before.
