Companion plants for Iris

I think the reason the lilies and iris do well together is that I have
well rotted compost in the soil, it is very well drained and the
fertilizer tablets I purchased from B & D Lilies have fed the lilies
very well. The plants get watered in the evening when they must be
watered and they are watered with well water. It is windy here much of
the time and the portion of the plants above ground dries rapidly. I am
not sure I will continue to have the lilies with the iris but I do not
have much room for more flowers because my husband loves to plant
vegetables and berries as much as I love to plant flowers. He is
cutting back on some of the things he grows because we can't consume it
all so I will have a bit more room which I will use for the lilies.

It is 102 degrees here today.
