When I checked, I found that an additional phone line was cheaper than the
cable modem direct line stuff, and there wasn't a penalty for disconnecting
it in less than a year. There was a small start up charge. Since I want
portable computing, I discarded the idea of DSL or whatever. And I took a
less expensive phone service for one line (limited number of free local
calls).
While electronic searching is wonderful, it doesn't really save paper if you
have to print it out. Paperless offices aren't quite here yet - not
everything can be automated. And I've been trying to get to that point since
the late 70s.
I think having the option of the checklists in searchable CD Rom format is
better than having to access them on the web no matter how fast, and having
them on the internet is helpful sometimes, and paper isn't obsolete yet.
Just my 2 cents.
