REB: Z4

An interesting year so far in Ottawa.

This is the first year we have had iris in bloom from the beginning of
May through July. The Japanese have just finished (Rafferty) and the
rebloom has started.

Ruby Eruption: An SDB from Chuck Chapman. This is the first time it
has rebloomed for us. We moved it to a different bed - more light and
better soil.

Precious Little Pink: I still hate it. First year it fails to rebloom,
it's outahere.

I was at my Dad's farm on the weekend and saw five Forever Blue
seedlings beginning their rebloom cycle. I'll be back to see if any are
worth further review. It's an interesting location; z4, no borer, no
spraying, high winds and outstanding plant quality. The rhizomes are
California-wet size and the stalks of even the weakest plants seem to be
ramrod straight (up). It's about eight miles south of Georgian Bay for
those who have a globe handy.

Regards,

Sandy Ives in Ottawa (who has been given his digging list for the
day...)
