The Iris which grow and bloom here--are all but Japanese and
Louisiana's--mostly be cause we rarely have enough snow cover to protect
them from harsh, winter winds which will dry out the fans--leaving them a
desiccated leaf--which will crumble--
Japanese do grow here--and usually survive the winter--but they have no
blooms the next spring. Louisiana's do not grow well here after the first
winter--and they like a moister area than here--
So I believe that if Iris will grow in zone 3/4--they should also grow in
zone 5
