<p.s. And thank you, Iris Moose, for sharing the news with us that the

published.>
Is the electronic checklist CD the same as the registration information
for daylilies? I think in our discussions about the electronic versions
of iris information, we may have been interchanging the <registrations &
introductions> with the <checklist>. Apologies if this is redundant and
all 500+ listers already understand this, but...
The R&Is are printed each year, then are compiled every 10 yrs and
contain detailed information on each cultivar. There are now 7 volumes
of R&I's. The older volumes increase in obscurity of information given,
decrease in detail, and increase in difficulty of formatting the
information to be compatible with more recent volumes. Getting the
1930s R&I into compatible digital format is going to be a bear.
The checklist is the list of names of all cultivars introduced to date
and it is inclusive of all year's intros, was printed in limited number
of copies, and is mostly so far available online. I don't know if more
copies will be printed. Seems like the checklist might be a good
project for AIS to dip their toes into making something available on
CD. And since it is only intended to give one main piece of information
(date of R&I listing) for each cultivar, it wouldn't require any
programming & could be used in any database or word processor software
with a search capacity.
