     While definitely NOT an expert . . . . I have 19 Arilbred iris. My
mentor is Luella Danielson. My experience is that the AB's can be treated
much as the TB's. I have mine in a separate bed. They still get watered but
not quite as often as the TB's. Since our rainfall so far this year is under
2 inches, watering virtually EVERYTHING, including native plants
occasionally is necessary.
    Several of my AB's are behaving like pure Arils. . that being they have
gone totally dormant and the leaves are brown wispy and dried up. The
majority of them look like the TB's do at this time of the year here in El
Paso, rather faded green/yellow with brown tips. The sun here is brutal!
