OT-BIO: Connie George

Hello all,
    I have been reading the archives and decided to join the group. I 
live in Central Virginia zone 7 a/b and my interest is the Reblooming 
TB Iris. I have ordered several varieties and this is my first 
attempt at growing them, so I am hear to learn and possibly 
contribute as I gain in experience. I have always loved the iris, but 
until I had my own property, I was not interested in gardening. 
    I have applied for membership in the Reblooming Iris Society and 
I am planning on attending the CVIS meeting later in July. It will be 
my first meeting. I have been hanging out on the Garden Web for about 
two months and that is where I found out about this list.
    I am new to gardening and very new to the iris. Currently, I have 
5 cultivars 'Rare Treat', 'Chinese Treasure', 'Interpol', 'Hidden 
World', and 'Two Sided Coin'. I almost lost 'Rare Treat' to bacterial 
rot this spring, but I was able to save some rhizomes to re-plant in 
the new Iris bed under construction. It is on a slope, in full sun, 
and in the front yard. I have visions of the bed rivaling my 
husband's 100+ hybrid tea roses.
