Laetitia, a fungicide such as Daconil helps control leaf spot, but you must start spraying the irises early when the fans are from four to six inches high. You need to spray about every two to three weeks to keep it from starting. About the only thing you can do now is cut off the badly infected fans and get rid of them (but don't put them in a compost pile). The theory that makes the most sense to me is that the fungus lives in the soil and when it rains, the soil splashes onto the foliage, infecting it. There are a lot of posts in the archive on leaf spot, if you want to do a search.

Does anyone have a remedy for this problem? Seems like every year
right after bloom season, my iris get covered with leaf spot. Usually
it follows the first bout of warm weather and heavy rains. I guess
this is a mold or fungus that lives in the soil and it is not
fatal...however I'm sure this is not good for the overall health of
the iris.
Does anyone know if it is worth it to use a fungicide spray? Maybe
after bloom time? Or is there a systemic that helps? I think there
are alot of native mold spores that live in this area.
Thanks,
Laetitia
