CAT:Bay View Order

My first iris order arrived today.  The plants are from Joe Ghio
at Bay View Gardens in Santa Cruz, CA.  I had ordered only one 
2002 intro, but the box contained a total of four plus one 2001 and
the rest of my order of just three more.  If everybody is this 
generous with extra plants, I will have to break up more ground.

Let me put in a plug for the USPS.  This package was mailed
on Monday, and I got it today, Wednesday.  Priority Mail works!  
The rhizomes still had the CA coastal chill to them when I opened 
the box.  These rhizomes are HUGE and the fans have not been 
out of the ground long enough to show any yellowing where they 
were trimmed.

I wonder how these plants would have fared in an UPS truck 
through Death Valley and AZ.  It would have taken eleven
days to get to MS.
