Did this really win a Dykes Medal. Oh my.
The hybridizer became a very close friend of mine before he died. I miss him
dearly. But, really, fellow judges!! I realize we can't vote for a solid
blue strong growing self iris every time, but winding snaking stalks along
the ground and a flower that is merely novel, but not a classic, cannot be a
Dykes Medal winner. Oh well.
