Perhaps a last word on "Tages"
If one is not a native speaker of English, it may not be immediately
obvious that Tages is the plural of Tag, and of course also means: label,
select out, touch as in a sport.. It can be both a verb and a noun, but with
the "es" it is either a plural noun or the thrid person singular verb. Tages
can be pronounced like a word in two syllables as well as one syllable. If we
have not tripped up on this one, even we native speakers of English sometimes
trip up on some other seldom used expression or word, or some ambiguous
construction. This characteristic of our Language is what makes it fun. Pity
the day when we have an official language that is prescribed rather than
described -- designed only for computers and not for iris gardeners. Till
then, we will all make mistakes, hopefully funny and not ones.
